17th-Century Paymaster's Desk

A rare example of country craftsmanship, this early Swiss desk displays a never-painted, three-board beechwood top, satiny smooth from years of use. A sturdy slate blue painted pine base is fitted with two deep and long dovetail drawers. After centuries of service, this 17th-century paymaster's desk remains in excellent structural condition.
