Soapstone Planter

This soapstone planter began its life as a school sink, made from dense, fine‑grained stone with the smooth, matte surface associated with early institutional fixtures. The original openings now provide excellent drainage, making the piece especially effective as a vintage sink planter for indoor or outdoor plantings.
The rectangular form has the quiet presence of a compact stone trough planter, with softened edges, layered gray tonality, and visible wear from years of daily use. As a reclaimed utilitarian vessel given new purpose, it offers both history and function, grounding herbs, succulents, or seasonal arrangements with the weight and integrity of natural stone.
